HELPER SPRING MAXI-LOAD®
"THE FAVORABLE AIR SPRING ALTERNATIVE"
WHY MAXI-LOAD
-
gives extra load support
-
stabilises swag and sway
-
reduces body roll
-
improves overall ride comfort
-
adjustable spring rate
-
self dumping property
-
reduces vibration
-
works like an air spring but without airlines or compressor, does not leak air
-
needs less installation space and less accessories than air spring
-
easy installation
-
progressive spring rate
-
silent functioning
-
maintenance free
-
prolongs factory leaf spring's life time
FACTORY SUSPENSION
-
Weak leaf springs: not optimised for high load.
-
Spring rate: linear, not adjustable.
-
A small and weak bump stop (jounce bumper) is used to avoid hard contact between axle and frame.
-
Factory bump stop is made from soft and cheap synthetic PU (Polyurethane) or from a solid rubber.
-
Poor ride comfort.
FACTORY BUMP STOP
MAXI-LOAD HELPER SPRING
-
Factory leaf spring needs no modification
-
Helper spring is mounted instead of factory bump stop. Spring rate: progressive and adjustable.
-
Maxi-load helper spring is robust and works together with the leaf spring from zero load or half load, etc. depending how you prefer to set it up.
-
Maxi-load helper spring is made from a natural, vulcanised rubber.
-
Stabilises vehicle.
MAXI-LOAD HELPER SPRING
HOW IT WORKS
Main part of the maxi-load suspension enhancement kit is the maxi-load hollow rubber spring. It's not a simple massive piece of rubber like old style bump stops but a well engineered master piece... The spring rate and progressiveness is realised by proper design of critical dimensions. Main dimensions influencing performance are height (H1), outer diameter (OD1) and inner diameter (ID3). Furthermore the difference of the two chambers (H2, H3, ID1, ID2) play a significant role. The result is a characteristics that can not be reached by either a single spring leaf or by a coil spring: progressive (variable) spring rate, self-damping property trough hysteresis and perfect vibration isolation. But this is not everything, because after selecting the proper hollow rubber spring for your vehicle, the function can be set (fine-tuned) with different spacers (dimension T); when (in which stage) the helper spring should start to act. E.g.: if the vehicle is empty or when the vehicle is half loaded, as you prefer.

MAXI LOAD HELPER SPRING KIT SELECTION
Maxi-load helper spring kits are available for most of the vehicles in two options:
Option one (v1) is a single- or double convoluted hollow rubber spring. This is the standard version and fits to all vehicles. For this version at least 3 different strength levels can be set with spacers supplied in the kit.
Option two (v2) is a double- or triple convoluted hollow rubber spring for certain vehicle versions.
If you want to be sure, which option you need, we recommend to measure free space for your new maxi-load helper spring, when vehicle is unloaded. See photos below: you can find three examples, how to measure free space between frame and axle (or leaf spring) depending on vehicle.
